Cover Pokémon: Gardevoir
The cover Pokémon of the expansion pack "Miraculous Departure" is Gardevoir, which is included in the form of Gardevoir ex this time. Gardevoir ex evolves from Kirlia, and Kirlia can evolve from Ralts.
The move "Miraculous Force" of Gardevoir ex can not only deal 190 points of damage but also restore all the special conditions of this Pokémon. The ability of Gardevoir ex should not be underestimated either. "Psychic Embrace" allows you to choose 1 basic Psychic Energy card from your discard pile and attach it to one of your Psychic-type Pokémon, and then place 2 damage counters on that Pokémon. And this ability can be used any number of times during your turn.
Although using the ability requires placing 2 damage counters on the Pokémon to which the energy is attached, there are also some Psychic-type Pokémon that can use the damage counters placed on them to deal high amounts of damage. For example, Drifloon, which is also included in the expansion pack "Miraculous Departure".
Paired with the Pokémon item "Bravery Charm" included in the expansion pack "Eons Unleashed", Drifloon can attach energy through the ability of Gardevoir ex and accumulate damage counters. If it accumulates 10 damage counters, its move "Balloon Bomb" can deal a whopping 300 points of damage at once, having a chance to knock out most Basic Pokémon ex and Stage 1 evolved Pokémon ex.
More Pokémon from the Paldea Region Make Their Debut
The first expansion pack "Eons Unleashed" of the "Scarlet & Violet" series includes the first three Pokémon from the Paldea Region: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, as well as their corresponding Stage 1 and Stage 2 evolved Pokémon. And in the brand-new expansion pack "Miraculous Departure", the Stage 2 evolved Pokémon Meowscarada, Crocalor, and Quaquaval will also join in a powerful way in the form of Pokémon ex!
The ability "Bouquet Magic" of Meowscarada ex allows you to place 3 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon by putting a basic Grass Energy card from your hand into the discard pile.
The move "Scratch Claw" requires 2 Energy cards of any type and can deal 100 points of damage. If there are damage counters placed on your opponent's Active Pokémon, you can deal an additional 120 points of damage.
By coordinating with the ability "Wound Spoon" of Radiant Alakazam included in the expansion pack "Azure Pulse", which can transfer damage counters to your opponent's Active Pokémon, there is a chance to deal a high amount of 220 points of damage.
Crocalor ex has an impressively high HP of 340. Its move "Burning Voice" requires 2 Fire Energy cards and can deal up to 270 points of damage at most. Although the damage of this move will be reduced by a value equal to the number of damage counters placed on this Pokémon multiplied by 10. However, when paired with the ability "Passionate Dance" of Oricorio, which is also included in the expansion pack "Miraculous Departure", it can maintain a high amount of damage by restoring its own HP.
The move "Spiral Shot" of Quaquaval ex requires 1 Water Energy card and 1 Energy card of any type, and it can deal 230 points of damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon.
By attaching Energy cards from your hand and coordinating with the ability "Energy Extravaganza" of "Quaquaval" included in the expansion pack "Eons Unleashed", you can stably use "Spiral Shot" each turn and continuously deal high amounts of damage.
In addition to the above three Pokémon ex, there are more Pokémon from the Paldea region included in the expansion pack "Miraculous Departure" in the form of Pokémon ex.
The ability "Valiant Re-draw" of Grapploct ex can assist trainers in discarding all the cards in their hands and redrawing 6 cards from the top of the deck when they are not satisfied with their starting hand in the first turn. And since this ability doesn't have to be used as soon as Grapploct ex is placed in the Bench area, trainers can use this ability after they have utilized the useful resources in their hands.
The move "Paralytic Spit" of Toxtricity ex has a chance to make the opponent's Active Pokémon paralyzed by flipping a coin. And the move "Toss Poison" can not only deal 180 points of damage but also make the opponent's Active Pokémon poisoned.
The ability "Poisonous Swamp" of Orthworm ex from the Paldea region can be used once during your turn when there is an Arena in play, and it can make your opponent's Active Pokémon poisoned. The move "Spike Bone" can deal 200 points of damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon.
The move "Pride Fang" of Mabosstiff ex can deal a base damage of 100 points to the opponent. Moreover, if there are damage counters placed on your Benched Pokémon, you can deal an additional 120 points of damage.
New Trainer cards make their debut
The Supporter card "Liza's Invitation" enables you to check your opponent's hand, pick one of their Basic Pokémon cards and forcibly place it in your opponent's Bench area. Then, you can swap this Pokémon with your opponent's Active Pokémon. By doing so, you can not only make a Pokémon that your opponent didn't intend to put into play enter the battlefield, but also substitute your opponent's Active Pokémon, thus disrupting their attacking rhythm.
The Arena card "Deep Bowl Town" allows both players to directly place 1 Basic Pokémon card (excluding Pokémon with special rules) from their deck into their Bench area during their own turns. This enables players to quickly set up their Bench in the early stage of the battle, laying the groundwork for subsequent offensive strategies.
The Item card "Encouragement Letter" can be used when your Pokémon faints during your opponent's previous turn. You can then select up to 3 Basic Energy cards from your deck and add them to your hand.
The Stage 1 Pokémon attached with the Pokémon Tool "Rigid Band" will receive 30 less damage from the attacks of the opponent's Pokémon2.
